Get to Know Christina McKnight

2015-09-18_11.22.55_pp-2It’s a great pleasure to welcome my De Wolfe World colleague, Christina McKnight.

First off, where were you born, Christina?
Sunny and hot Northern California.

What do you like most about where you live now?
I’m one hour from the beach and one hour from the mountains. No matter what mood I’m in, I have plenty of options for quick getaways.

Best of all worlds! What’s your favorite season?
SUMMER! I love the heat. I prefer 105 degrees to 60 degrees.

What is the worst job you ever had?
In high school I worked at the local amusement park as the birthday party coordinator and hostess. After two years of working every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, I got the flu and called in sick. My manager accused me of faking it. I quickly said bye-bye to that job.

Do you have any hobbies?
My boyfriend and I collect old cars—VWs to be more specific. When we aren’t traveling the country for book related events, we are attending car shows!

Tell us something you are really proud of.
I’m a Girl Scout Troop Leader and Team mom for my kid’s baseball teams. I am extremely involved in all the kids’ activities.

Can you confide something you’re not good at?
Oh, how fun. Well, I’m overly shy when you first meet me.

What’s your pet peeve?
One? Just one? LOL. People who complain! I’m all about going after what you want in life, not complaining about what I don’t have.

Do you like animals?
Not sure I should admit this online, but we have four cats and four dogs. They are all properly fixed and have current shots. My boyfriend and I merged household, which meant no family member left behind (2 legged or 4 legged). We now live in the city which makes juggling the animals a bit harder.

What do you enjoy most about being a published author?
I’ve enjoyed meeting so many people from diverse background and locations; both readers and writers. I’m made many lifelong friends within the book community.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
I don’t believe in writer’s block…although, I am a firm believer in the power of procrastination. I set deadlines—and share them with the world. This keeps me accountable and moving forward.

To what do you attribute your success as a writer?
My mother pushing me to tell my stories. She’s always believed in my talent, even when I didn’t.

Tell us about your latest release.
HNM_667x1000Hidden No More, A Lady Forsaken (Book Four) is releasing TOMORROW!

A lady concealed from society…

Lady Ellington, the illegitimate daughter of a wealthy marquis, has spent her entire life hiding from London’s high society—both as a result of her own desires and those forced upon her by her overbearing and abusive father. When the marquis passes away suddenly, Ellie feels as though a weight has been lifted and immediately assumes her role as mistress of Drake House. Though she is constantly looking over her shoulder, wondering when it will all be taken from her. And for good reason—no sooner has she shed her black mourning garb than a missive arrives, announcing an heir to the Marquisate. A person she has never heard of before, but one with enough power to change her fate entirely.

A man uncovering the secrets of his past…

Taken in by his nursemaid in infancy and raised as an orphan, Alex has never had the benefits of a name or a bloodline. Yet he’s content to work hard and earn his keep as a stable hand in one of London’s finest homes, proving himself worthy of both his position and his friendship to the beautiful Lady Ellington. When Ellie asks for his help with a delicate matter, he’s happy to oblige, but soon finds himself in the middle of more than he bargained for. His innocent meeting reveals secrets from the past that he never could have imagined, and he discovers that he’s a duke by birth. But even with the possibility of a title and all that goes along with it, Alex is unsure whether he can tear down the walls Ellie has built to protect her heart.

A love neither can hide…

While the two have a love that’s undeniable, it may not be enough to bridge the gap and overcome the obstacles standing in their way. And now, with every secret revealed, there’s even more at stake.

Love the cover! Is it part of a series?
It is the final book in my A Lady Forsaken series. This year will include the first book in two new series; Craven House Series (4 books) and Lords of Deceit Series (7 books). I love writing series just as much as I love reading them!
